Birding is one of the fastest growing hobbies in the United States, with estimates of over 51 million birders actively pursuing this activity annually.

The Bird Nerds is a half hour reality television pilot that follows two seasoned bird watchers (“birders”) into the Costa Rican jungle in search of rare birds.  There is a secondary theme of adventure travel and eco-tourism, with a focus on the conservation efforts in place to protect endangered bird species from the impact of deforestation, overpopulation and environmental hazards.

The Bird Nerds will take the audience on an exciting, first hand look into the journey of a birder, specifically the extreme (and sometimes comical) lengths to which a birder will go to “get the bird”.
